March 2006 - Rico's is visited by a Mystery Shopper and scores very well in the resulting report.
EXTERIOR OF ESTABLISHMENT - This is really the only place where Rico's supposedly fell short on the mystery shopper's report as they felt there weren't enough parking spaces and that the exterior was not lit to their satisfaction, though they said the parking area was clean and all the signs were in good repair.
INTERIOR OF ESTABLISHMENT - Rico's scored 100% in this section of the report, which is comprised of things like if the windows & floors are clean and presentable. Interior signs and lights in good repair. Merchandise stocked and well organized. Prices marked and visible.
GREETING - Another 100% by Rico's, New & Sale items on display and easily visible, greeted upon entrance, enthusiastically helped by staff, made very welcome by several staff members.
EMPLOYEES - 100% - All visible employees in proper uniform, neat, clean & well-groomed, staff readily available for questions, no foul or offensive language used.
SALES PRESENTATION - Rico's lost a few points here (not sure why?) First it asks if they inquired how they heard about the merchant, then it asks if they were accompanied around the store by the saleperson - comment here is that it was not necessary, however they deducted 1 point for this. However for the rest of this section they scored well in areas regarding up-selling and if the staff was knowledgeable about products and services.
CLOSING - 100% for greeting and "Thank You"
SUMMARY - Would the Mystery Shopper return to this establishment - YES. Suggestions: update the parking lot, keep up the good work.
