Ricardo Olivares, Sr. and family arrived in the United States from Mexico in 1972 and opened his first restaurant in Underground Atlanta. They relocated to Stockbridge in 1982 under the name Guadalajara Restaurant. This twenty-year-old establishment was passed on to Ricardo's children and thrived with a reputation for fine food and a relaxing atmosphere. 
 
Rico's Mexican Restaurant opened on June 6th, 2002 to carry on the traditions and recipes, including the family salsa recipe. After the opening of Rico's, customers tasted the salsa and recognized the unique flavor associated with the Olivares family from Guadalajara Restaurant.
 
Many customers have moved out of Stockbridge, but still crave Rico's salsa. We are now offering Don Rico's salsa for purchase so customers can enjoy the restaurant's flavorful staple anywhere. Available to order through our website or at the restaurant.
